Shipbuilding has always been important in the region and in this workshop we shall explore why. The children will get the chance to look objects from old and new ships and investigate the different kinds of ships in the Story of the Tyne gallery. The class will then test out materials to see which float and sink before using different materials to modify a ship to improve its buoyancy.
