Workshop Summary

We have limited availability for summer 2022 due to booking cancellations. We still have some spaces available for our Scienceworks event in June if this is of interest.

Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) is part of the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project, a national partnership, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by the British Library, to save almost half a million rare and unique recordings that are threatened by physical degradation or stored on formats that can no longer be played.

To celebrate this exciting project we have developed a new sound based workshop for KS1 and KS2, during this workshop students will learn about sound, where it comes from and how we hear as well as more about sound technology inventions since the first sound recordings by Edison in 1877.
