In this new display explore how we generated power for our daily lives in the North East over the years.

From fossil fuels to renewable energy sources to nuclear power, Powering the Past features newly conserved objects on display from the collection. See a model of the Chimney Windmill at Newcastle’s Spital Tongues, a model of an overshot water wheel, an electricity pylon model and a model of a modern coal face.
