There will be a static heritage bus or two on display on the plaza.

Free vintage bus rides in a 1964 or a 1978 double decker bus will also be running hourly from 10.30am - 2.30pm.  SOLD OUT


Marvel at the transport of yesteryear and see a beautifully preserved bus that used to be in every day service. 

Free vintage bus rides will also be running hourly from 10.30am - 2.30pm. 

The vintage bus tour with on-board commentary covers the Newcastle bridges, starting and ending at Discovery Museum.  

The route: Discovery Museum - Redheugh Bridge - Sage Gateshead - Swing Bridge - Quayside - City Road - Swan House Roundabout - Moseley Street - the Vermont Hotel by the High Level Bridge (brief stop) - Central Station - Discovery Museum.  

Each bridge will be visible at some point of the tour. The tour will last approximately an hour.
