Soldiering On: A local history studyBooking Enquiry
Until Friday 19 July
Workshop length: 1 hour 30 minutes
Maximum number of children: 30
Available on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Through role play and information gathering, this enquiry-based learning session will allow your class to compare and contrast what life was like in the army during three key periods of time. Divided into three groups, your pupils will be recruited into the Crimean War, conscripted into WW1 and signed up into the modern army. Each team will present their discoveries at the end of the session.
The session includes object handling, archive material, games, research and investigation. It will give your class the chance to develop deeper historical and chronological understanding, and can form the basis of a local history study back at school.
