Workshop Summary

Over the next three years, Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) will contribute to the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project, a national partnership, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and led by the British Library, to save almost half a million rare and unique recordings that are threatened by physical degradation or stored on formats that can no longer be played.

To celebrate this exciting new project we have developed a new SEND sensory sound based workshop during this workshop students will learn about sound, where it comes from and how we hear plus there will be engaging activities and games looking at selective objects from the handling collection and activities using braille and moon text.

Students will also have their own opportunity to experiment and make visual sensory collages finishes off with a sound focused story session.

This session can be adapted to suit specific requirements, please contact us in advance to arrange this.
