Museum Socials - The Life of the £7 Toaster

This is a free drop-in event and will also include a free, informal tour of the Steam to Green exhibition. As well as toast there’ll be free tea, coffee and refreshments!

Museum Socials are part of Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums warm welcome and social prescribing offer. Socialising and connecting with others is important. Going to a museum and meeting new people can make you feel happier and healthier. It can also improve your mental health and wellbeing.

Join artist, maker, scientist and fix-it café co-founder Marek Gabrysch for a fun, immersive journey into the life of a £7 toaster and the environmental consequences of cheap single use electricals. 

This global journey will take in modern consumerism, material unsustainability, the right to repair and the circular economy - all whilst making toast and having a brew.
