Inspired Inventors
Drop-in activities

Explore North East inventions on our Big 5 inventors trail, featuring Charles Parsons, William Armstrong, Joseph Swan and George and Robert Stephenson (50p). 

Create a mini turbine inspired by the engine used in Parson’s iconic ship, Turbinia. 

Find out more about Swan’s lightbulb and make your own simple squeeze torch to take home (£1.50).

Bridge Building Challenge
11am, 1pm & 2.30pm, duration 45 minutes

Can you build a better bridge than Armstrong’s Swing Bridge? Go head-to-head with other families in our bridge building challenge.

PLAY+INVENT
Drop-in workshops & activities

Tuesday 13 & Wednesday 14 February 
10am - 1pm

Book for this hands-on session where participants will have the opportunity to tinker with micro-computers, including Arduino Uno and pi-tops.
